80’s hitmakers The Violent Femmes and Echo & The Bunnymen will be playing an outdoor show at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Maryland Heights, MO. Both bands are two sides of the coin. Milwaukee’s trio, the Violent Femmes, are known for their quirky, off-kilter, humorous brand of unlikely hits like “Blister In The Sun.” Echo & The Bunnymen, are the other side of the coin. The brilliant Liverpool quartet (now trio) produced some of the 80’s most enduring sonic masterpieces. Albums like their 1980 debut Crocodiles and the critically-acclaimed masterpiece Ocean Rain (1984) are considered some of the best releases from the fertile English post-punk scene. Both bands won’t be around forever, so it’s wise to catch them in all their glory, even if it means braving the St. Louis heat.
