ZZ Top, The Little Old Band From Texas, just lost bassist, vocalist and lyricist, Dusty Hill. The cause of death has not been announced. Hill, along with drummer Frank Beard, and guitarist Billy Gibbons, sold an estimated 50 million albums worldwide, were inducted into the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame, and were the winners of numerous MTV Video Awards.

ZZ Top has released 15 studio albums since 1971 and was recently playing live dates. Hill had suffered a hip fracture, and had to undergo surgery for his hips and a shoulder injury.

ZZ Top have not announced a replacement, and it’s unlikely that the band will continue without Hill.
